Default Gaming laptop.

Could someone suggest a decent gaming laptop in the price range of $900-$1200?
I'll mostly be gaming on it while I'm away from home and use it for light web surfing.

I wouldn't suggest getting a gaming laptop. They can be prone to overheating, and overall you can get a much better desktop gaming computer with higher power for $500.

However, unless you're going to be playing CPU-dependent games like L4D, TF2, etc. this one is nice:

Even if you will play L4D & TF2, it should still be decent enough.

But it is deffinitely not future-proof. Any CPU below 2.4Ghz is not going to last long. GPU-wise, 9600GT is still gonna run decently for at least another 2 years.

Alienware is a name that is well known for its extreme gaming desktops. It should therefore come as no surprise that their laptop range is no exception to the rule of overkill. The Aurora mALX packs in a 2.6GHz AMD Turion 64 ML-44 processor which is quite powerful and can go the distance. The system has 2GB of 400MHz memory which allows just about every game to run without issues. In terms of its graphical system this monster laptop packs in a pair of Nvidia GeForce Go 7900 GS GPUs with 512MB of memory on each. The graphical cards are run in SLI mode and this is what makes the laptop so unique. With the kind of graphical power under its hood, serious high-definition gaming is made possible. Games like F.E.A.R which bring other laptops to their knees runs extremely smoothly on this laptop.

ASUS G73Jh
Gamers will enjoy this speedy, big-screen Asus ROG G73Jh laptop, but it's versatile enough to help anyone set high scores on productivity.
